Artwork-to-print workflow

How to Print Multiple Canva Place Cards on One Page

Export artwork you own or are licensed to use as PNG or JPG, choose the matching Place Card format and paper setup in WedPapers, then use Print Preview to create a multi-up A4 or US Letter sheet instead of printing one oversized card per page.

The key is to separate artwork from imposition: your raster file supplies the background, guest data supplies the changing names, and the selected print setup controls how finished cards are arranged on a sheet.

STEP 01

Export eligible artwork

Export the place card face yourself as a high-resolution PNG or JPG. Use only artwork you own or are licensed to use, and keep the source design available in case the finished size needs correction.

  • PNG or JPG file
  • Correct aspect ratio for the intended card
  • Artwork extends through the bleed area
  • No guest name baked into the reusable background

STEP 02

Choose the card and paper size first

In Select Design, choose the supported Place Card format that matches the artwork. Then confirm the compatible print setup before uploading so the crop and multi-up sheet use the correct physical dimensions.

A4Your printer and cardstock use 210 × 297 mm sheetsPaper size is A4 and automatic fit-to-page is off

STEP 03

Upload, crop, and add the guest list

Choose uploaded artwork for Place Cards, add the PNG or JPG as the locked background, and confirm the crop. In Add Data, import guest names and any table or food fields you need. The artwork stays fixed while the structured fields change for each guest.

STEP 04

Inspect the multi-up Print Preview

Component Preview checks one personalized card. Print Preview shows how multiple cards fit on the selected A4, US Letter, or compatible preset sheet. Confirm the card count, sheet count, margins, orientation, and crop marks before export.

  • Every card stays inside the sheet
  • Names remain inside the safe area
  • Bleed reaches beyond the trim line
  • The longest name is still readable

STEP 05

Make a test print at actual size

Download the watermarked proof PDF and test print one sheet on inexpensive paper. Print at 100% or Actual size, not Fit, then measure a finished card against the selected format before using final cardstock.

  • Correct A4 or US Letter tray selected
  • Scaling set to 100% or Actual size
  • Front orientation matches the feed direction
  • Trim size measured after the test print

STEP 06

Export the covered Place Cards PDF

When the proof, names, and print setup are correct, a one-time Place Cards unlock enables the print-ready Place Cards PDF for this Wedding Project. WedPapers provides the digital file; you print it yourself or send it to a print shop.
